William Bentley is the Robert E. Fischell Distinguished Professor of Engineering. His research centers on developing molecular tools to express biologically active proteins and manipulating signal transduction pathways, including bacterial communication networks, to alter cell phenotypes. Bentley’s lab also creates innovative strategies to facilitate “communication” between devices and biological systems through the assembly of biologically functional interfaces.
